Obituary

Marvin passed away at his home in Northboro on Wednesday, March 21, 2012.

Memorials may be directed to the Nazarene Church in lieu of flowers.

Marvin Leroy Cox, was born on January 19, 1924 on the family farm three miles west of Northboro, Iowa, the son of John M. and Mary Willard (Bates) Cox. Marvin entered into eternal peace on Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at his home in rural Northboro.

On June 6, 1954, Marvin was married to Lorane Rowe at the Assembly of God Church. To this union two children were born; Roger Dale born November 26, 1955 and Arlene Gale born November 17, 1958.

Marvin spent his entire life on his farm and working the ground, for as long as his health permitted him to.

Marvin spent his leisure time playing his guitar and singing. He attended the Church of the Nazarene most of his married life.

Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Laverne and Willard Cox and two sisters, Velma Keep and Cleo Phelps.

Left to cherish his memory include his wife of 57 years, Lorane Cox; son; Roger Dale and his family of Northboro, Iowa; daughter Arlene Gale Shavlik and her family of Elkhorn, NE, 13 grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
