Marjy Joy Johnson, the daughter of Gilbert and Pauline (Leckenby) McCall, was born May 11, 1931, in their Northwest Missouri home. Marjy passed away Monday, August 18, 2014 in Omaha, Nebraska at the age of 83 years, 3 months and 7 days.
Her early years was spent in Missouri and moved every couple of years, until they moved to Hamburg, Iowa. She graduated from Hamburg High School in 1949. Then she went to nurses training in St. Joseph, Missouri.
On June 4, 1950 she was united in marriage to William M. Johnson. In this union four children were born Judy, Joy, Jeana, and Janet .
Marjy worked at the Shenandoah Community Hospital for many years. She loved to take care of the babies after they were born. She took care of all four grandchildren after they were born.
Marjy was a member of the Holiday Ramblers Campers Club. She enjoyed camping, sewing and quilting. She loved spending time with her kids and grandkids.
Marjy was preceded in death by her husband William "Bill" Johnson, daughter Judy Johnson, first great-grandson Michael McKinnon, and parents Gilbert and Pauline McCall.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters; Joy Thompson and husband Richard of Shenandoah, Iowa, Jeana Smith and husband Bob of Shenandoah, Iowa, and Janet Johnson and husband Sam Hankins of Glenwood, Iowa, grandchildren, Shawn Smith and wife LeeAnn of Chino Valley, Arizona, Shad Smith and wife Nikki and their daughters Avery and Mia of Fort Collins, Colorado, Jami McKinnon and her son Matthew McKinnon of Jenks, Oklahoma, and Chad Thompson and his sons Riley and Tanner of Shenandoah, Iowa, sister Patsy Thompson of Longmont, Colorado, niece, nephews, friends and other relatives.
Memorials maybe directed to the family.
Burial will be held the Rose Hill Cemetery in Shenandoah.
