Marjorie Maxine Bugg, the daughter of Esther and Floyd Bohrer, was born August 11, 1929 in Shenandoah, Iowa. She passed away May 7, 2016 at her home at Windsor Manor in Shenandoah, Iowa.
Marjorie attended a country school six miles east of Shenandoah and graduated from Shenandoah High School. After high school she attended IAMO Business Institute in Tarkio, Missouri. She worked at various jobs over the years, the first being employment with Earl May Seed Company for approximately 5 years.
In addition to helping on the farm, she worked for Tip Top Products, then located in Shenandoah, Iowa, The Riverton Caf, and the American Legion in Hamburg, Iowa.
On February 25, 1950 she was united in marriage to Wilbur Lee Bugg in Shenandoah, Iowa and to this union two children were born, Elaine Kay and Darwin Kyle. Most of her life was spent on the farm in the Farragut-Riverton area, however, she spent thirty-two winters enjoying the warm weather in Mesa, Arizona.
Marjorie was a member of the Riverton United Methodist Church and served as a Youth Sunday School teacher for several years. She was an active member of the United Methodist Women's Club, and for many years volunteered and organized the Memorial Day Dinner at Mount Zion Cemetery Association. Marjorie enjoyed crocheting, golfing and playing cards.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Wilbur, two brothers Donald Bohrer and Ivan Bohrer, her mother-in-law Minnie Bugg and father-in-law Hershel Bugg.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter Elaine Kay (Bugg) Boroughs and her husband Chris of Ozark, AR; and her son Darwin Kyle Bugg and his wife Sandy of Farragut, IA; Grandchildren; Eric Boroughs of Trinidad, CA, Jodie Thompson and her husband Randy of Ozark, AR, Jennifer Downey of Glenview, IL, Robbie Bredensteiner and his wife Colleen of Irvine, CA, Nicole Hicks and her husband Trevor of Council Bluffs, IA, Melanie Dayton and her husband Michael of West Des Moines, IA, Kristie Bugg and her fianc Chad Pitts of West Des Moines, IA, and Kevin Bugg and his wife Allison of Waukee, IA; twenty great grandchildren with one on the way; a sister Dorothy Perry and her husband Everett of Marshalltown, IA, a brother Harold Bohrer and his wife Lila of Billings, MT; one sister-in-law Babe Bohrer of Graham, WA, a brother-in-law Eldon Bugg and wife Wanda of Booneville, MO, a brother-in-law, Bill Bugg and his wife LaMyrne of Moberly, MO, a sister-in-law Pat Withrow and her husband Frank of Macon, MO, a brother-in-law Dick Bugg and his wife Donna from Anacortes, WA; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Memorial may be given to the Riverton United Methodist Church or the Mount Zion Cemetery Association.
Burial was held at Mt. Zion / Utterback Cemetery in rural Riverton, Iowa.
