Marie Clara Lorimor, daughter of Frederick and Clara (Prange) Bertram was born November 28, 1926 in Shenandoah, Iowa. She passed away on Thursday, July 30, 2015 at the Sidney Ambassador in Sidney, Iowa.

The youngest of 8 children, Marie was born and raised in Shenandoah and graduated from Shenandoah High School with the class of 1944.

After working as a teller at Security Trust and Savings Bank for several years out of high school, Marie was united in marriage to Bert Gibson Lorimor on September 7, 1947 at the Methodist Church in Farragut, Iowa - a union that would last 52 years until Bert's passing in 1999. They lived and raised their family on a farm north of Farragut until retiring to Shenandoah in 1990.

She was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Shenandoah - teaching Sunday School, singing in the Church choir, and being very active in LWML and Altar Guild. She was a past 4-H leader, served on the Fremont County Youth Committee many years and was always a strong supporter of 4-H, as well as a member of the Shenandoah Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, Athenaeum Study Club, and neighborhood social clubs O.N.O. and None Such. Marie also volunteered for Meals on Wheels and Food Pantry. She loved the outdoors, flower gardening, sewing, handwork, and fishing in Minnesota. But most of all, Marie loved God, her Church, and family.

Marie was preceded in death by her husband Bert Lorimor, her parents, brothers Raymond, Harold, and Reuben Bertram and sisters Selma Sunderman, Alma Bertram, Edna Norton, and Lillian Meyer.

Marie is survived by her children Steve Lorimor and wife Kathleen E. of Farragut, Iowa, Rebecca Lorimor of Shenandoah, Iowa, and Brent Lorimor and wife Kathleen M. of Farragut, Iowa, grandchildren Amanda Moore and husband Trent of Randolph, Iowa, Jessica Carter and husband Ben of Cedar Falls, Iowa, and Brady Lorimor of Farragut, Iowa, great-grandchildren Colton and Malea Moore of Randolph, Iowa, sister-in-law Shirley Schaaf and husband Stanley of Randolph, Iowa, many, many nieces and nephews, many friends, very special caregivers Dixie Major and Clara Housh, and all the wonderful aides, nurses and staff of the Ambassador Care Center in Sidney, Iowa.

Burial will be held at the Farragut Cemetery in Farragut, Iowa.

Memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association or Trinity Lutheran Church for Outreach.
