Margy Ann Moates was born on December 23, 1934 in Clarinda, Iowa the daughter of Bernard and Dorothy (Devers) Moates.  Margy entered into eternal peace on Wednesday, September 18, 2024 in Red Oak, Iowa.

On December 23, 1951 Margy was united in marriage to Eldon Bartles in Bedford, Iowa.  The couple made their home Shenandoah.  The busy couple raised three children, Mike, Sam and Joy.   Eldon owned and operated the Matador Lounge and Margy owned and operated Margy's Beauty Shop.  The busy couple also owned and operated several farms in the area.  Margy was also a member of the First Christian Church.

When Margy wasn't doing hair, she enjoyed reading, planting flowers, puzzles, shopping, crocheting and spending time with her granddaughter Sarah.  Their weekly trips out to eat at the Depot were a special highlight.  Margy also was very proud of her home and always enjoyed friends stopping by for a visit.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Eldon; sons, Sam and Mike; daughter Joy; brother Gary; and nieces Suzanne Dalrymple and Katherine Glasco.  Those left to cherish her memory include her granddaughter Sarah Ritnour; son-in-law, Richard Ritnour; daughter-in-law Pam Bartles; grandson Jeff Bartles; granddaughter Jasi Bartles; sister-in-law Suzette Moates; special friends Candi Oldham; nieces and nephews, Ronnie and Marsha Bartles, Connie Dalrymple, Maxine and Larry Hamilton, Dennis Bartles, Jolene Wilson, Janelle Frye and Jim and Lisa Glasco; other relatives and a host of friends.

Graveside Services will be held on Monday, Sept. 23, 2024 at 2:00 p.m at the Rose Hill Cemetery.  There will be visitation on Sunday afternoon at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.  A memorial is currently being established.
