Margaret Marie Farnsworth Max was born in Page, Nebraska on July 20, 1918 to Enoch Harold "Hal" and Bertha Marie (Knudsen) Farnsworth. She entered peacefully into eternal rest on June 4, 2011 at the age of 92 years and 319 days. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Carl and infant daughter Linda Susan. She is survived by daughters Caroline Hug and her husband Butch, Marilyn Castle and her husband Dennis, sons David Max and his wife Donna and George Max and his wife Betsy and their families.

The families includes nine grandchildren, Corey Hug, Casey Hug and his wife Kathy, Becky Castle (Vaught) and her husband Jeremy, Ryan Castle and his wife Andrea, Amanda Castle (Schwarck) and her husband Brad, Crystal Max and her fianc Andy Pappas, Andy Max, Marnie Max, Gregg Max and nine great grandchildren.

Margaret spent her youth growing up in the farming community of Page, Nebraska and graduated from Page High School in 1936. She attended 70 consecutive alumni banquets at Page on Memorial Day weekend. She began her career working for JC Penney in Fremont, Nebraska where she met her husband Carl. They were married on Oct. 24, 1941 and moved back to the farm in Page. Carl later purchased the Mobil station in Page and they made their home there until moving the family to Ainsworth, Nebraska in 1965. In 1967 they moved to Shenandoah, Iowa where they lived the rest of their life together until Carl passed away in 1990. While in Shenandoah she worked for many years as a secretary at the local nurseries.

Margaret was a devoted wife and mother and was a stay at home mom when the kids were young providing a stable Christian environment to her family. She was also a huge Nebraska Cornhuskers fan. The family has had six season tickets since 1964. A great deal of the memories of Margaret revolve around going to Husker games and supporting the team. She was fortunate to meet many of the players and coaches over the years.

She will be missed by her family and friends who take comfort in knowing that she is now at peace in Heaven with the Lord.

Memorials in Margaret's name are being directed to the Shenandoah First United Methodist Church.
Burial will be in the Page Cemetery in Page, Nebraska. Graveside services there will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday.
