Marcella Clare (McGinnis) Ryan was born on August 8, 1922, in Imogene, Iowa. She was the daughter of Edward and Mary (Lynch) McGinnis. Marcella passed away at the Josie Harper Hospice House in Omaha, Nebraska on Tuesday, March 27, 2018, at the age of 95.

Marcella's early life was spent growing up on farms in the Imogene, Iowa area. She attended St. Patrick's Catholic School in Imogene and St. Mary's Catholic School in Shenandoah, Iowa. Later the family moved to a farm in the Villisca, Iowa area where she graduated from the Villisca High School with the Class of 1940.

On September 26, 1959, Marcella was united in marriage to Joseph C. Ryan at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Shenandoah. They lived on a farm north of Shenandoah in the early years of their marriage and moved to Shenandoah in 1970. They enjoyed 45 years of marriage until Joe's death on December 17, 2004.

Marcella was employed by the Ladies Apparel Shop for many years. She was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church and Regina's Guild. She was a volunteer at the Shenandoah Medical Center for several years. Marcella enjoyed cooking, baking, golfing, flower gardening and traveling with Joe.

Marcella was preceded in death by her parents, siblings and their spouses John, E. J. (Bud), Louis, Arthur, Alice, Mildred and Faustina. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Ruth (Bruce) Majerus of Marion, Iowa. She was a loving aunt and is survived by many nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 am, Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Shenandoah.

Rosary will be held 6:30 pm, Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at the Hackett-Livingston Funeral Home in Shenandoah followed by visitation with the family until 8:00 pm.

Burial will be held at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Imogene.

Memorials may be made in Marcella's name.
