Mabel Rogers, age 79 of Shenandoah passed away on Tuesday morning, March 24, 2009 at her home, following a courageous battle with cancer.

Mabel was born on June 15, 1929 in Red Oak, IA; the daughter of Floyd and E. Grace (Weidman) Reed. She was raised on a farm south of Thurman, Iowa. It was in Thurman were she attended school and graduated with the class of 1946.

On June 4, 1948 she was united in marriage to Don Rogers in Farragut, Iowa. The couple then made their home in Shenandoah. She was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. Some of her interests included gardening, quilting, reading and volunteering at Elm Heights.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, a son and daughter, 3 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

In keeping with Mabel's wishes, there will not be any services held.
