Mabel Mutchler's Obituary
Mable passed away on Monday afternoon; September 15, 2008 at Garden View Care Center. There will be a private family viewing on Friday from 1:00 to 1:30 p.m., prior to the graveside services.
Mabel Leone was born on April 21, 1930 in Iola, Kansas; the daughter of Charles Clinton and Rosetta (Ruby) Cummins. The death angel came to receive Mabel from her sufferings on Monday afternoon; September 15, 2008 at the Garden View Care Center in Shenandoah, Iowa.
Mabel was the youngest of 13 children, whose early childhood was spent living throughout the Midwest. On March 14, 1946 she eloped to Iola, Kansas where she was united in marriage to Tully Mutchler. The couple then returned to Shenandoah where they raised their family.
Mabel was a devoted and hardworking farmwife and mother. She enjoyed cooking for her family and working in the garden. She also had a talent for sewing and made all of her children's clothing when they were younger. In her later years she enjoyed reading, researching genealogy, and visiting with her friends via e-mail. She felt that she was never to old to learn something new. Mabel was truly young at heart.
She was welcomed into heaven by her parents, beloved husband Tully who passed away in 1995, a granddaughter Carrie Linfor, a great-granddaughter Jody Christine Whitehill and her 12 siblings.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children; Vickie Walters of Red Oak, Iowa, Linda Geer and husband Gary of Shenandoah, Iowa and Tom Mutchler and wife Shirley of Omaha, Nebraska; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Graveside Services were held on Friday; September 19, 2008 at the Home Cemetery in Tarkio, Missouri with Rev. Joanne Johnson officiating. "Beyond The Sunset" and "Hymn Of Promise" were special musical selections for the services. Serving as Casket Bearers were Les McKenney, Byron Erickson, Randy Messenger, Richard Linfor, Jeff Geer and Allan Hummel.
Hackett-Livingston Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
