Lucille Sweney, daughter of Dale and Clara Annan was born on December 23, 1917 on the family farm in Harlan township, Page county, of Clarinda, Iowa. She passed away Friday morning December 27, 2013 at her home in Shenandoah at the age of 96.

Lucille grew up on the farm, graduated from Clarinda High School and Clarinda junior college.

On February 26,1941, Lucille was united in marriage with Merle Sweney at Rock Port, Missouri to this union two daughters, Beverly and Patricia were born. Merle and Lucille moved to the family farm in 1942. Lucille was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church and a member of the KK neighborhood woman's club.

Preceding her in death were her husband Merle; her parents; and Lucille's brother, Don Annan and his wife Ruth; and son-in-law, Rickey Steckelberg.

Lucille is survived by her daughter, Beverly Dykeman and husband Marvin of Overland Park KS; daughter, Patricia Steckelberg of Shenandoah Iowa; grand daughter, Deborah Noel and husband William of Overland Park, KS; grandson, Brian Steckelberg and great granddaughter Olivia Steckelberg of Shenandoah.
