Obituary

Lois Louise Keep, daughter of Carl Madison and Abba Otilia (Carlberg) Headley, was born on August 19, 1935 at Brownville, Nebraska. She passed away on Monday, February 2, 2015 at the Menorah Medical Center in Overland Park, Kansas at the age of 79.

Her early life was spent growing up in Brownville, where she attended the Brownville Public Schools. At the age of 10, the family moved to Farragut, Iowa, where Lois graduated from Farragut High School with the class of 1954.

On February 21, 1954, Lois was united in marriage to George Keep, Jr. in Rock Port, Missouri. Following their marriage they resided in rural Coin, Iowa. They were blessed with two children, Randal Douglas and Patricia Kay. Her and George made the move to Shenandoah in 1998.

Through the years, Lois worked at the Murphy Insurance Company and the Page County State Bank both in Coin. In her later years, Lois worked as an Associate at Wal-Mart in Shenandoah until retiring. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Shenandoah and also active with the Retired Wal-Mart Associates monthly get-togethers. In her spare time, Lois loved to do embroidery and scrapbooking.

Preceding Lois in death were her beloved husband George; parents, Carl and Abba Headley; and two brothers, Edwin and Larry Headley. Survivors include her two children, Randy Keep and wife Karen of Oskaloosa, IA and Patty Jessup of Peculiar, MO; two grandsons, Ryan Keep of Oskaloosa and Jeffrey Keep of Oskaloosa and his fianc Hannah Klein of Reasonor, IA; special grandson, Joseph Smith of Oskaloosa; sister, Faye Rolf and her husband Donnie of rural Shenandoah, IA; two brothers, Carl (Sonny) Headley of Shenandoah and Delbert Headley and his wife Myrna of Council Bluffs, IA; numerous nieces and nephews; special grand dogs, Samson and Fagan; other relatives and many friends.

Memorials in Lois' name are being directed to the Shenandoah First Christian Church. Burial will be in the Farragut Cemetery.
