Lisa Kay Almquist was born on January 24, 1958 in Red Oak, Iowa, the daughter of Elwyn and Alice (Johnson) Almquist.  Lisa entered into eternal peace on October 15, 2021 in Sacramento, California.

Lisa was raised on the family farm east of Essex.  She attended school in Yorktown.  In her younger days she often enjoyed riding her bike.  She participated in the Special Olympics for many years.   She worked at the Nishna Productions Workshop until she and her mother moved to California to be closer to her sister Peggy.  She was a member of the Faith Covenant Church in Essex and the Essex American Legion Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her parents Elwyn and Alice Almquist; brother-in-law Walter Kummerow and sister-in-law Jann Almquist.  Those left to cherish her memory include her siblings Peggy Monley (Tom), Ann Kummerow and Ron Almquist; nieces and nephews Joshua (Andrea) Monley, Nate (Kate) Monley, Lina (Mark) Bornstein, Dominic (Sarah) Monley, Chris (Michelle) Kummerow, Chad (Michelle) Kummerow, Andrew (Meagan) Kummerow, Robyn (Tim) Almquist and Sara (James) Almquist; 15 great-nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
