Obituary

Linora M. Brown, 94 of Lincoln, Nebraska and formerly of Shenandoah passed away on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 following an extended illness.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, March 19, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at the Hackett-Livingston Funeral Home in Shenandoah, Iowa. Burial will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will greet friends 1 hour prior to the services on Monday.

Linora Mavis Harms was born September 3, 1923 in White, South Dakota, the daughter of John and Kate (Arends) Harms. She grew up in Shenandoah, Iowa and attended Shenandoah Public School. She had three children from a marriage to Marvin Wynn, who passed away in 1944. She was united in marriage to Basil Brown on August 20, 1947, in Glenwood, Iowa. The family made their home in Imogene and Shenandoah, Iowa. They owned and operated the Model Caf in Shenandoah. In 1959, they moved to Grand Island, Nebraska where they lived for 42 years. Together they operated the Superior 400 Service Station and Laundry Mat. In 1975, the couple started Brownie's Pianos. They bought and sold used pianos throughout the United States and Canada until they retired in 1985.

Those left to cherish her memory include one son, Richard (Lorna) Wynn, and daughter, Mrs. Jon (Barbara) Smaha, both of Lincoln, Nebraska, eight grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and three great, great grandchildren, two brothers-in-law, one sister-in-law and nephew Howard Harms.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Kate Harms, husband, Basil Brown, son, Morise Wynn, seven brothers, five sisters, one granddaughter, and several nieces and nephews.
