Lindy Sue (Ossian) Osborne, daughter of Lynn Allen and Dolores Jean (Silvey) Ossian, was born on July 27, 1973 in Shenandoah, Iowa. She entered into rest on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at Methodist Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska, following a courageous battle with cancer for the past two years. She was surrounded by loving family and dear friends when her name was called.

Her early life was spent growing up in Essex, Iowa, where many great memories and friendships were made throughout her grade school years in the Essex Community School District. As a big sister, Lindy welcomed home two siblings, Brandy and Wendy, whom she loved deeply and shared a close bond. Lindy graduated from Essex High School with the Class of 1991. Following high school Lindy attended the University of Nebraska at Omaha, receiving her degree in Social Work in 1995.

On March 31, 2001, Lindy married the love of her life, Darren Charles Osborne, in Essex. Following their marriage they made their home in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. To this union, two sons, Lincoln and Sam were born. They lived in Halifax until moving back to southwest Iowa in August of 2011, residing in Farragut.

Lindy worked as a social worker at Nishna Productions in Shenandoah, for Capital District Health Authority in Halifax, Rolling Prairie Case Management in Mills County and also for The Sanctuary in Shenandoah.

She was a member of the St. John's Lutheran Church in Essex. Lindy enjoyed cooking, fine dining, stamping, leisure reading, attending her children's school and sporting events, and spending time with friends and family.

Preceding Lindy in death were her paternal grandparents, Melvin and Catherine Ossian and maternal grandparents, Bert and Erma Silvey; and Pete Young. Survivors include her loving husband and two beloved sons, Darren, Lincoln and Sam Osborne of Farragut; parents, Lynn and Dolores Ossian of Farragut; two sisters, Brandy Ossian of Charlotte, NC and Wendy Gardner and her husband, Chris and their two children, Blu and Beau of Farragut; mother-in-law, Jean Osborne of Halifax, Nova Scotia; sister-in-law, Lisa James and her husband Mark and their daughters, Madison and Gabrielle of Halifax, Nova Scotia; special friends, Amy and Chad McClintock of Essex; other relatives and many good friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are being directed to the Lincoln and Sam Osborne Scholarship Fund.
