Lester LeRoy Racine, the son of Earl Wayne and Anna Viola Hickman Racine was born on a farm in Page County, Iowa, on March 1, 1930, and entered into rest on July 18, 2014 at the Ambassador Care Center in Sidney, Iowa.

Lester spent his entire life in the Fremont and Page County Iowa area except for the time when he served his country in the Army during the Korean War. Lester attended school in Shenandoah and Riverton, Iowa, graduating from Riverton High School in 1948. He was united in marriage to Marlene Foster at the United Methodist Church in Riverton, Iowa on May 12, 1951. To this union two sons were born, Ron and Randy. Lester farmed all his life in the area and was active in several organizations. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Coin, Iowa, active in the Shenandoah Elks Club where held several positions, the Nebraska City Eagles Club, and served on the Coin City Council for two terms. Lester enjoyed playing golf, working with any type of mechanical projects, and dancing. Lester was a loving husband, father and grandfather and enjoyed his friends which he had many.

Lester was preceded in death by his parents, an infant brother Dwight, and a daughter-in-law Sandra. He leaves to morn his passing his wife Marlene; two sons Ron of Bellevue, Nebraska and Randy and his wife Kathy of New Market, Iowa. Four grandchildren, Wade, Amber, Cole and Anthony. Ten great grandchildren Isabelle, Kimberly, Hallie, Jenna, Brett, Donavon, Ezekiel, Eli, Grayson, and Carson. Also surviving is a brother Dean Racine, along with a host of other relatives and friends.

Memorials to Coin Fire and Rescue or Coin Library. Burial will be at later date at Riverton Cemetery. Lester donated his body to Medical Science to help further research.
