Graveside services for Lee will be on Wednesday, August 30, at 10:30 a.m. at the Rose Hill Cemetery in Shenandoah. Military rites will be accorded by the Shenandoah American Legion Post #88. Memorials are being directed to the Holt County V. F. W. Post #926.

Lee Stille, son of Rueben and Pearl (McCluskey) Stille, was born on September 7, 1933, in Silver City, Iowa. He passed away on Wednesday, August 23, 2006, at Antlope Memorial Hospital in Neligh, Nebraska following a lengthy illness at the age of 72.
He attended Shenandoah High School, graduating with the Class of 1952. Lee married Phyllis Rennack on September 13, 1953, in Shenandoah. In 1954, Lee entered the United States Army, receiving his basic training at Ft. Riley, Kansas, beore being deployed to Korea in June of 1954. He proudly served his country until his honorable discharge in December of 1955. Lee and Phyllis farmed near Randolph until 1958. He then went to work for Western Electric in Omaha and then to Civil Service at Mead, Nebraska. They relocated to Ft. Leavenworth, Kansas, until 1975 when they moved back to Nebraska and were once again involved in farming in the Seward area for four years and in the Bartlett area for 21 years until 2001, when they retired and moved to O'Neill, where Phyllis has worked at KBRX since 1989. Together they enjoyed woodworking, crafts, gardening, and their church in Ewing. Lee was an avid Nebraska Husker Fan, with the nickname of Herbie Lee Husker on KBRX Radio. Lee was a member of the O'Neill American Legion and was the Holt County VFW Post #926 Commander and VFW District 11 Commander at the time of his death.
Survivors include his wife, Phyllis of O'Neill, NE; his pet cat, Midnight; two sisters, Bedah Anna Huff of Red Oak, IA and Betty Hansen of Glenwood, IA; two sister-in-laws, Alice Burns and Verna Rennack of Shenandoah, IA; one niece, Jeanne Bower and husband Leroy of Beaver Lake, NE; one nephew Bob Stille and wife, Barbara of Malvern, IA; one brother-in-law, Walter Sieck and wife Elsina of Perry, IA; along with many other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.
