Military Services will be held on Friday, May 3, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the Omaha National Cemetery.

Local Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the Nishna Valley Christian Church in Shenandoah, with a luncheon following.

Larry Clinton Hines was born on August 24, 1945 in Hamburg, Iowa, the son of Charles Clinton and Velma Louise (Paris) Hines. Larry entered into eternal rest on Saturday, April 6, 2019 at Nebraska Medicine in Omaha, Nebraska.

Larry was raised in portions of Missouri and Southwest Iowa. He attended Farragut Community Schools through the 8th grade. He enlisted in the United States Navy on December 27, 1962 and served his country with pride until he was honorable discharged on September 28, 1966. Larry served two tours in Vietnam, where he was awarded several service medals.

Larry worked at various construction jobs, put up grain bins, worked on installing garage doors and assisted in building the Ethanol Plant in Shenandoah. Although his work took him many places, Shenandoah was always home. Larry was a member of the American Legion, AMVETS and the Eagles Club. Larry helped with many fundraisers to assist the Shenandoah Police Department with their K-9 program and Shop With a Cop.

In his spare time he enjoyed going to garage sales, putting together puzzles, collecting coins, spending time with his family and enjoying the outdoors. He had a tender spot in his heart for babies and young children.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Karen Weisenberger (Ray); sisters Rosa Bell and Bonnie Brammer and brother-in-law Jack Wilson. Those left to cherish his memory include his sisters Judy Wilson and Catherine Culbertson; son Christopher Hines; 3 grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
