Laline Maher, 93 of Shenandoah passed away on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at the Elm Heights Care Center in Shenandoah, Iowa.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Burial will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery in rural Imogene. The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Monday, June 4, 2018 from 5:00-7:00 p.m.

Memorials may be directed to St. Mary's Guild or People 4 Paws.

Norma Laline (Alley) Maher was born on October 15, 1924 on a farm between Shenandoah and Farragut, the daughter of John and Zella (Glasgo) Alley. She was one of two daughters. She was educated at a country school for eight years and four years in the Shenandoah High School system. She graduated with the Class of 1942.

On July 15, 1948 she was united in marriage to Clement Maher and to this union one daughter was born, JoAn. The family made their home in Shenandoah. Mr. Maher passed away on December 5, 1991.

Laline was a wonderful and loving wife, mother, grandmother great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She was an avid bowler. She also enjoyed doing word search puzzles and watching football on television.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and sister Mary Louise Freberg and husband Robert. Those left to honor her memory include her daughter JoAn Ullerich and husband Stan, granddaughters Angela Peterson and husband Mike and Natalie McNaught and husband Andy, great-grandchildren Dane and Samantha Peterson and great-great-granddaughter Tayden Peterson.
