Kristine Louise Sellers was born on October 8, 1946 in Red Oak, Iowa, the daughter of Paul and Viola (Carlson) Sellers.  Kris enter into eternal peace on October 22, 2023 at her home in Shenandoah, Iowa surrounded by her loving family.

Kris' early years were spent in the community of Clarinda.  She was united in marriage to David Vanni on November 5, 1995 in Las Vegas, Nevada.  The couple moved back to Iowa in 1996 and lived in Farragut for a couple of years before moving to Shenandoah.  David passed away in on November 21, 2019.

She worked most of her life as a waitress, a job that she thoroughly excelled at.  You knew if Kris was waiting on you, that everything would be taken care of!  She worked at the Tall Corn Motel and Restaurant for many years.  Once the Tall Corn closed, she went to work at Mondo's until declining health forced her lay down her ordering pad.  She brought so much joy to her regular customers.

When she wasn't working Kris enjoyed listening to music, watching the tv shows Law & Order, Bones and Chicago P.D., spoiling her cat Boots, and her dog Snooki.  Her favorite phrase to use was "I Know"and according to her family, she used it a lot.    She was a loving mother, grandma, great-grandma, sister and friend. Her memory will forever remain with those whose lives she touched with her kindness.

She was preceded in death by her son Anthony Pence, brother Bruce Smith and beloved husband David Vanni.  Those left to cherish her memory include her children; Shawna Hladky, Anna MacDonald and husband Mike, Jim Wood and wife Stephanie,  and Donny Gay and wife Danelle;  11 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.
