Kimberly Marie Leftwich was born on September 3, 1975 in Shenandoah, Iowa, the daughter of Byron Lee and Karen Marie (Hendrickson) Erickson. Kim entered into the arms of the Lord on Thursday, January 27, 2011 in Denison, Iowa following a courageous battle with cancer.

Kim attended school in Shenandoah and graduated from Shenandoah High School with the Class of 1994. She attended Iowa Western Community College in Council Bluffs and Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids. She was united in marriage to Leslie Leftwich on August 3, 1996 at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Shenandoah, Iowa. The couple resided in Council Bluffs, Iowa City, Omaha, NE, Milton, FL, Shenandoah, and Denison. The couple's marriage was blessed with the birth of two precious daughters, Hannah and Abigail.

Kim worked as a Certified Nurses Aide for Lantern Park Nursing and Rehabilitation in Corallville, IA and later at Parsons House in Omaha, NE. She had most recently been working at Wal-Mart in Shenandoah. Kim was baptized and confirmed in the Emmanuel Lutheran Church. For the past ten years, she had been serving the Lord in the Southern Baptist Church. She was currently a member of the Pioneer Baptist Church in Denison where her husband Les, is serving as Pastor.

Kim was a dedicated wife and mother. She loved spending time with her family. Time spent in the kitchen cooking brought her much joy. She enjoyed being an active church member. She could often be found helping out with the children's activities or assisting the elderly. She also like to watch college football and cheer on her favorite team the Iowa Hawkeyes. Watching movies was another favorite pastime of Kim's.

Those welcoming her into heaven were her grandparents Dorothy and Raymond Hendrickson and Violet and Herbert Erickson and her mother-in-law Carol Leftwich.

Those left to honor and cherish her memory include her husband Les Leftwich of Denison; her daughters Hannah and Abigail Leftwich of Denison; parents Byron and Karen Erickson of Shenandoah; sisters Stacy McCarthy of Omaha and Brooke Erickson of Shenandoah; 4 nephews Devin Herr of Shenandoah, Shiloh McCarthy of Omaha and Jeremiah and Gabriel Leftwich of Plattsmouth; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and a host of good friends.
