Kaylene Ann Dyke, daughter of Wilson Audley Elder and Maxine Vivian Pennock, was born February 5, 1947 in Des Moines, Iowa. She passed away on Saturday, June 8, 2019 at her home in Shenandoah, Iowa at the age of 72.
When Kaylene was five the family moved to Tennessee from 1950 to 1956 before returning to Iowa and settling in Shenandoah. She graduated from Shenandoah High School with the class of 1965. She spent two years at Northwest Missouri State University. She worked for the Shenandoah Community School until retirement.
Kaylene enjoyed spending time with family and friends, listening to Elvis and visiting with her church family. She especially loved hugs and kisses from her great-grandson Wilson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Robert Elder and very close friend Carol Wilson.
Those left to cherish her memory include her son Darin Dyke of Farragut; daughter Darci Edds and husband Terry of Farragut; granddaughter Devin Barth and husband Austin and their child Wilson of Shenandoah; grandson Lance Corporal David RenteriaEdds and wife Serena of California; brother Bill Elder and wife Diana of Essex; nephews Jan Elder of Essex and Bryan Elder and family of Colon, NE, nieces Taylor Bolton and family of Cedar Rapid, IA and April Elder of Oskaloosa, IA; sister-in-law Mary Elder of Oskaloosa, IA and special cat, Blackie.
Celebration of life memorial service will be held 3:00 p.m., Friday, June 14, 2019 at the Hackett-Livingston Funeral Home in Shenandoah. Visitation with the family will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., Friday, June 14, 2019 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Farragut Congregational Church.
