Kay passed away on Friday evening. Celebration of Life Services will be held at a later date.
Dolores "Kay" (Cramer) Woods was born on March 30, 1939 in Shenandoah, Iowa, the daughter of Warren and Donna (White) Cramer. Kay entered into eternal peace on Friday evening, December 20, 2013 at her home in Shenandoah surrounded by her loving and supportive family.
The majority of Kay's life was spent in the Shenandoah Community. She attended Shenandoah Community Schools and graduated with the Class of 1957. In 1977 she was united in marriage to Merle Woods in Shenandoah. Kay worked for Hy-Vee and later went to work for Eaton Corporation until her retirement in 1994. She was a member of the Eagles Club in Shenandoah.
Some of her interests included oil painting, quilting, attending painting classes at IWCC, crocheting, reading,going to the cabin, attending flea markets, playing BINGO on Sunday, playing cards on Monday and Keno.
She was preceded in death by her parents. Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters; Sharon Rice and husband Mark of Loveland, CO, Debra Leach of Shenandoah, IA, Michelle Rhodes and husband Chris of Glenwood, IA, Tina Sunday and husband Greg of Spencer, IA and Teresa Sapp and husband Joe of Omaha, NE; sons Jeff Smith of Shenandoah, IA, Jon Smith and wife Shannon of Richmond, MO and Chris Woods and wife Jennifer of Glenwood, IA; sisters Ev Cole and husband Colin of Leonard, MN and Barb Jones of Council Bluffs, IA; brothers Larry Cramer of Omaha, NE and Jerry Cramer of Mesa, AZ; 14 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; other relatives and a host of friends.
No formal services will be held at this time. A day of remembrance will be held at a later date.
