Kathryn Mae Laumann the daughter of Harold Duane Miller and Mary Leota Couvalt, was born on January 30, 1935 in rural Guthrie County, Iowa and entered into rest at Omaha, Nebraska on Saturday, January 2, 2016, at the age of 80.
When Kathy was 4 her family moved to Menlo, Iowa, until the age of 7 when they moved to Des Moines, Iowa. At the age of 10 she moved to Portland, Oregon, moving to Clarinda, Iowa a year later, where she would be raised by her aunt and uncle, Eileen and Hugh Wells. Kathy grew up in Clarinda, Iowa, graduating from high school. After high school she was united in marriage to Donald Laumann at Huntington Beach, California, on February 18, 1952. After their marriage, they moved to Hawaii where Don was stationed with the Marine Corp. After 13 months in Hawaii they moved to El Toro Marine Base in southern California, until Don was discharge in August of 1953. After Don's discharge they moved to rural Farragut where she would live the remainder of her life.
Kathy was an active member of St. John's Lutheran Church rural Westboro, Missouri; being involved in the Couples Club where her and Don were charter members. She was also active in the church choir, Lutheran Church Women, serving in many offices. Kathy was a member of the Fairview Club and Red Hat Ladies. She enjoyed doing handy work and crafts. Her favorite pastime however was following her children and grandchildren in their activities throughout the years. Kathy worked for many years as a cook at Grape Hospital in Hamburg, Iowa and the Sidney Care Center in Sidney, Iowa.
Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, her aunt and uncle Hugh and Eileen Wells, and two sisters, Barbara Sanders and Neva Harrison.
Survivors include her husband Donald William Laumann; their children, Teresa Jo Cullin and husband Bill of Shenandoah, Iowa, David Laumann and wife Jolene of Farragut, Iowa and Mark Laumann and wife Linda of Farragut, Iowa; grandchildren (and great-grandchildren), Chad Cullin and wife Amanda (Alias, Aiden & Lauren) of Maryville, Missouri, Scott Laumann and wife Carrie (Danica, Makenna & Kandra) of Farragut, Iowa, Nikki Rengstorf and husband Nick (Ellie & Josie) of Red Oak, Iowa, Luke Laumann and wife Alisha (Grant & Lexi) of Farragut, Iowa, Amy Laumann and special friend Seth (Xander & Paxtyn) of Glenwood, Iowa, Curtis Cullin of Omaha, Nebraska, Erik Laumann and wife Kim (Cameron, Evan & Quinten) of Sidney, Iowa, Travis Laumann and special friend Heather (Jaxon, Owen & Ethan) of Shenandoah, Iowa, Kyle Cullin and wife Kati Cullin (Brody, Brynlee & Brecker) of Shenandoah, Iowa, Katie Abold and husband John of Silver Creek, Nebraska, Heather Laumann of Sioux City, Iowa and Jessie Laumann and special friend Stacy of Farragut, Iowa, half sister Elaine Miller of Des Moines, Iowa and along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Memorials may be directed to St. John's Lutheran Church of rural Westboro, Missouri.
Burial will be held at the St. John's Lutheran Church in rural Westboro, Missouri.
