Ruby Katherine "Katie" Leacox, 95, passed away on December 11, 2007, in Kansas City, Missouri. Katherine was born in Ponca City, Oklahoma, on July 9, 1912. She was raised in Wichita, Kansas. She was united in marriage to Robert P. Leacox. In 1985, Katie and Bob moved from Kansas City, Missouri, to Shenadoah, Iowa (Bob's home town) They enjoyed many years in Shenandoah and had many wonderful friends. Katie was an avid bridge player belonging to several bridge clubs and was a past member of PEO JA Chapter. She was a devoted wife, mother and friend and will lovingly be missed. Memorials are being directed to the First United Methodist Church in Shenandoah in Katie's name.

Preceding Katie in death was her husband of 57 years, Robert P. Leacox, who passed away in 1995. Survivors include her son, Robert Leacox and his wife Maury of Dallas, TX; daughter, Judy Southhard and husband C. D. of Philadelphia, PA; daughter Jane Herman and husband Marion of Kansas City, MO; ten grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; nieces, great nieces and great nephews; other relatives and friends.
