Julia Bea Klang, 79, passed away on September 17, 2007, at her home in Kearney, Missouri. Graveside services will be on Saturday, September 22, 2007, at 11:00 a.m. at the Essex Cemetery in Essex.

Julia was born on April 16, 1928, in Ringgold County, Iowa, the eighth of ten children, to Roy and Goldia (Spencer)Sheumaker. She graduated from Central Missouri State University. On November 28, 1948, in Mt. Ayr, Iowa, she married Floyd Gilbert Klang. Julia was a very active member of HOSANNA! Lutheran Church where she and Floyd were charter members. She retired as a librarian from Excelsior Springs Middle School. Julia was preceded in death by her husband Floyd Klang; two brothers, Roy Sheumaker and Tom Sheumaker and a sister Bernice Abarr. Survivors include two daughters, Marie Summers and husband Don of Liberty, MO; LaRu Woody and husband Fred of Austin, TX; son, Eric Klang of Cary, NC; four sisters, Frances Saltzman of Mt. Ayr, IA,Eunice Jones of Grant City, MO, Liz Thomas of of Des Moines, IA and Margaret Wood of Omaha, NE; two brothers, Clinton Sheumaker of Gladstone, MO and John Sheumaker of Des Moines, IA; nine grandchildren, Joshua Summers and wife Cheryl, Jacob Summers, Katrina Tucker and husband David, Luke Woody, Logan Woody, Carl Woody, Evan Woody, Karla Klang and Melinda Klang; and six great granddaughters, Annika, Julia and Erika Summers and Jael, Tekla and Saoirse Tucker.
