Joyce Marie Adams, daughter of Jesse Fredrick and Carrie Ethel (Hill) Stump, was born September 16, 1918 in Coin, Iowa. She passed away January 3, 2015 at University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska. She was 96 years old.

Joyce grew up in Coin, Iowa. She helped raise her three nieces (Ila Sue, Betta Lea and Joan). She did housework and ironing for several people in Coin before graduating from Coin High School in 1937 and from Casters Beauty School in 1939.

Joyce was united in marriage to Tracy Adams on June 1, 1941 in Albany, Missouri and they resided in Abilene, Texas for a short time before moving back to Coin.

Joyce was a self-employed Beautician and had a beauty shop in her home in Coin for over 50 years until her retirement at the age of 86.

Joyce was a member of the Coin United Methodist Church, Womens Auxiliary and the National Hairdressers Association. She enjoyed cooking and taking care of flowers. She provided and cared for the flowers at the back entrance to the Coin church for many years. She also loved taking care of her family.

Preceding Joyce in death were her husband, Tracy Adams; parents, Jesse and Carrie Stump; half-sisters, Margaret Stump Horel, Myrtle Stump Long, Norma Stump Ganung, Grace Long Boswell and half-brother Russell Long.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Connie Irvin and husband Michael of Shenandoah, Iowa, nieces, nephews, friends and her Fair Oaks family.

Memorials may be directed to the United Methodist Church of Coin.

The burial of cremains will be held in the spring at Elmwood Cemetery in Coin.
