John Jerome Chandler was born on February 25, 1971 in Morgantown, WV, he was the son of Franklin Harry and Margaret Rose (Sime) Chandler. John entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at the Shenandoah Medical Center.
John's early years were spent in the Omaha and Council Bluffs communities where he attended grade school. The family later moved to Tabor and John attended Fremont Mills High School. He was a former member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and a current member of the United Congregational Church in Shenandoah. John was united in marriage to Kathi Glines on June 28, 2008 at the United Congregational Church in Shenandoah.
He held various jobs throughout his life including working in construction and the masonry field, was a truck driver and worked in a hog lot. He also worked for several local employers including Cargill, Hy-Vee and Shenandoah Sanitation. Some of his hobbies included rock hunting, fishing, hunting, knife forging, gardening, wood working, making treasures out of trash, dumpster diving and spending time with his family. John was a good friend to many.
He was preceded in death by his father Frank Chandler, grandfather Charles Sime, uncle Neil Sime, aunt Theresa (Sime) Smith, father-in-law Gary Glines and nephew Levi Racine. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife Kathi; mother Margaret Bishop and husband Mike; children Ty Chandler and wife Paige, Ambria Chandler, Jesta Chandler, Jonah Chandler, Devin Hogue and wife Jodie and Kaci Hogue; grandchildren Mackenzie, AyJai, Jerzie, Rayne, Raylin, Jadaziah, Charlie, Yvonne, Cullen and River; sister Tonja Bunner and husband Steve; sisters-in-law Kelli Gould and Kandi Glines; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
