John Douglas Beach, 45, son of Robert Beach, Sr. and Loy (Asbaugh) Beach, was born on February 20, 1962, in Shenandoah, Iowa. He passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, April 12, 2007, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

His whole life was spent in the rural Shenandoah, Iowa area on the family farm. He attended the Shenandoah Community Schools, graduating from Shenandoah High School with the Class of 1980. John loved the farm and returned to the family farm operation after attending Iowa State University. He was currently engaged in farming with his father. John was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Shenandoah. He enjoyed snow skiing, golfing, shooting pool and being with his friends.

Preceding John in death were his brother: Richard Beach; and grandparents: Leon and Elsie Beach and Lester and Mildred Ashbaugh. Survivors include his parents, Robert and Loy Beach of rural Shenandoah, IA; brother, Robert Beach, Jr. of rural Shenandoah, IA; sister, Mary Ann Brannen and her husband Terry of Shenandoah, IA; niece, Carrie Brannen; two nephews, Chris Beach and Tim Brannen; other relatives and many friends.

Services were held at the First United Methodist Church on Tuesday, April 17, 2007 with Rev. Jim Gubser officiating. Burial took place at the Rose Hill Cemetery in Shenandoah. Serving at the Memory Register was Carrie Brannen and Shana Beach. Ushers were Keith Dyche, Kevin Maher and Carl Martin. Casket Bearers were Bob Beach, Jr., Tim Brannen, Christopher Beach, Greg Franzen, Peter Weber, and Richard Dozier. Memorials may be directed to the Davis-Rodgers Chapter of FFA. The services were entrusted to the Hackett- Livingston Funeral Home.
