Jerry David Boylan, the son of Walter Glen and Mary Elizabeth (Baggs) Boylan was born on November 13, 1947 in Maryville, Missouri. Jerry entered into eternal peace on Sunday, July 22, 2018 in Lincoln, Nebraska following an extended illness.

Jerry attended Pleasant Hill Country Grade School and later graduated from South Page School with the Class of 1965. During his school years he was a member of the football team, played trumpet in the band, was a member of FFA, where he served his chapter as President and enjoyed showing horses in 4-H. Jerry developed a passion for farming and agriculture at a very young age.

Jerry joined the United States Army and later was a member of the Army National Guard. He enjoyed his chosen occupation of farming and raising cattle, a job he did all his life. He was a member of the Shenandoah American Legion Post #88, a Township Trustee, a member of the Blanchard United Methodist Church and also served as a volunteer firefighter. Some of Jerry's interests and hobbies included fishing, target practice, playing cards, boating and caring for his pond, and spending time with family and friends.

Preceded him in death were his parents. Those left to honor his memory include his children: Kari Serpa (Paulo) of Pebble Beach, CA, Scyler Boylan (Crystal) of Lincoln, NE and Sayler Boylan (Justine) of Omaha, NE; step-daughter Veronica White (Kerry) of Altoona, IA; grandchildren Genevieve and Olivia White and Enzo and Aurelia Serpa; sisters Sara Annan (Bill) of Shenandoah, IA and Carol Ann Kurtz (Jim) of Crystal Falls, MI; other relatives and a host of friends.

Celebration of life memorial service will be held 3:00 p.m., Saturday, July 28, 2018 at the Hackett-Livingston Funeral Home in Shenandoah with military rites provided by the Shenandoah American Legion Post 88 Color Guard.

Memorial visitation with the family will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., Saturday, July 28, 2018 at the Hackett-Livingston Funeral Home in Shenandoah.

Burial of cremains will be held at a later date in Union Grove Cemetery in Northboro, Iowa.
