Jeane McCrary, daughter of Jay and Ferne (Spaulding) Borland was born June 5, 1922 in Shenandoah, IA. Jeane entered the arms of the Lord on Saturday, December 10, 2016 at Montgomery County Memorial Hospital in Red Oak, IA at the age of 94.

Jeane graduated from Shenandoah High School with the class of 1940. After graduation she attended the American Institute of Business in Des Moines, IA.

Jeane resided in Shenandoah, IA until she married Nathan Otis 'Mac' McCrary Jr. August 6,1944. After marriage moved to Ames, IA, then to Kansas City, MO where Mac attended the Kansas City School of Watchmaking. Jeane and Mac opened their first jewelry store in O'Neil, NE; later returned to Southwest Iowa in 1949 settling in Red Oak opening McCrary Jewelry Store. In 1963 Mac and Jeane returned to Ames. In 1985, they retired to Shenandoah. Jeane also worked for Thomas D. Murphy Co in Red Oak, Wabco Heavy Equipment in Ames, and the Iowa Department of Transportation, also in Ames.

Jeane was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She attended the First Presbyterian Church of Shenandoah.

Jeane was an avid embroider and dabbled in knitting, sewing and stained glass making.

She is preceded in death by her parents Jay and Ferne Borland. Her husband Nathan Otis McCrary Jr. and grandson Ryan J. McCrary of Grosse Pointe Park, MI.

She is survived by her children Daniel J. McCrary and wife Maggie, of Grosse Pointe Park, MI, Martha Jean "Marty" McCrary Barnett, and husband Larry Barnett of Red Oak, IA, Jon O. McCrary, wife Heidi P. McCrary of Kalamazoo, MI. Her grandchildren, Anna McCrary Moran and husband Theo Moran of Wichita, KS, Misty Barnett Schwartz and husband Gary Schwartz of Omaha, NE, Mendy Jeane Barnett Hayes and husband Steve Hayes of Enid, OK, Megan Barnett Hylok and husband Daniel Hylok of Papillion, NE, Nathan Tyler McCrary of Chicago, IL, Phillip J. McCrary of Kalamazoo, MI, and her sister Martha Jo Yates of Shenandoah, IA. She has 11 great grandchildren.

Celebration of life funeral service will be held 11:00 am, Thursday, December 15, 2016 at the First Presbyterian Church in Shenandoah.

Visitation with the family will be held from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, Thursday, December 15, 2016 at the First Presbyterian Church in Shenandoah.

Burial will be held at the Rose Hill Cemetery in Shenandoah.
