Jean Polsley Armstrong, 94 a retired elementary teacher died on June 29, 2022 in Las Vegas, Nevada.  She was born on August 8, 1927 the daughter of Ray and Ruth (Handorf) Polsley in Bedford, Iowa.

Jean taught in Sidney and Coin, Iowa and Wichita and Haysville, Kansas.  Jean and her husband John resided in Haysville for 60 years, before John's passing.  In 2014 Jean moved into an assisted living center in Clearwater, Kansas.  In 2021 she moved to Las Vegas, Nevada to live with her son John.  During her time in Haysville she was very active in the Haysville United Methodist Church, Haysville PTA and various neighborhood activities.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 60 years, John; brothers Richard Polsley and Lloyd (Jean) Polsley; and sister Martha (Dr. R.E) Gamble.  Those left to cherish her memory include her son John David of Las Vegas, NE; sister Lois Sullivan of Temple, TX; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Graveside Memorial Services will be held on Friday, August 12, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the Elmwood Cemetery in Coin.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Haysville United Methodist Church at 601 E Grand, Haysville, KS 67060.
