Obituary

Jacqueline Juanita Mikkelsen was born to William and Helen (Harp) Alley on January 24, 1925 in Shenandoah, Iowa. She passed away on Tuesday, January 29, 2008 in Elk City, Oklahoma at the age of 83.

Shortly after high school Jackie married Tom Mikkelsen. Following their marriage they made their home in Shenandoah. Tom worked for the Post Office while Jackie was a homemaker and later began work at the Eaton Corporation where she became involved with the United Way.

Following retirement Jackie enjoyed working part time for a number of main street businesses in Shenandoah.

Jackie was a member of the United Methodist Church and taught Sunday school classes for many years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas; and her parents, Bill and Helen.

Jackie is survived by her two children, Tom Mikkelsen of Grand Island, Nebraska and Pamela Gregory and her husband Brent of Elk City, Oklahoma; sister, Junietta Frentzell of Albuquerque, New Mexico; niece, Annette Frentzell Jordan and husband John of Albuquerque, New Mexico; and nephew, Martin Frentzell and wife Sandy of Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Funeral Services were held on Friday, February 1, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. from the Hackett-Livingston Funeral Home in Shenandoah. Words of Comfort were given by Rev. Jim Gubser. Musical selections included "Amazing Grace", "How Great Thou Art", and "Return To Me". Betty Andersen was in charge of the Memory Register. Casket Bearers were Bill Hillman, Bob Larson, Rex Funk, Roland Pulley, and Bruce Anderson. Interment was in Rose Hill Cemetery in Shenandoah, Iowa. A memorial fund in Jackie's name is being established.
