Isaac Edward Gibson was born on April 7th, 2003, in Shenandoah, Iowa, to his mother, Christina Dawn Lewis-Gibson and father Adam Courtney Gibson. He was also welcomed to the world by his big brother, Branden Allen Lewis Gibson.

Isaac's name means "laughter" and there is no other name that could have suited him better. From the time he was born he made people laugh and brought joy to everyone. He was bright, inquisitive and brave and he had the most amazing dry wit that never seemed to belong in a child's body. We always thought he was an "old soul" because he was able to understand things and grasp abstract concepts and find humor in things that should have been beyond his years.

Isaac was a real "hands on" kid. He didn't spend a lot of time on video games or electronic gadgets. He wanted to be outdoors doing things and he loved to work, especially outside work with either set of grandparents. Isaac loved all things sports but especially his Shenandoah Mustangs team, the Minnesota Vikings and Missouri Tigers. He learned to drive the riding lawn mower at the age of two and from that point on he drove anything he could get his hands on from trucks to tractors to golf carts. But of all the things he enjoyed, he loved to fish the most. He packed a lot of "fish stories" into his short life.

Isaac loved the Lord. He accepted Christ at the age of four and he remained faithful to the Lord. During the last months of his life, he prayed with his mother and others repeatedly throughout each day. When he was on his final journey in the PICU, his loved ones and beloved staff from the hospital sang hymns to him for hours and then released him into the arms of the Lord.

Isaac left this Earth on September 13, 2013. He is particularly mourned by his mother, brother, father, grandparents, cousins, aunts and uncles. Isaac didn't belong to us but was lent to us by the Lord. In his final days, he touched not only his family but the community and the world. He was a joy and inspiration to us all.
