Hubert passed away at the Parkdale Manor.

There will not be any viewing or visitation. Memorials may be directed to the family.

Hubert Benjamin Twaddle, Jr. ("Hubie") passed away on November 27, 2013 at Parkdale Manor Nursing Home, in Maryville. He was sixty years old. He was the son of Hubert Twaddle and Beulah Mae (Adkins) Twaddle of Elmo, Missouri. Both are now deceased, his mother having passed away due to complications with his birth.

Hubie spent his early childhood with his grandparents, Harold and Ida Harvey of Elmo. He later resided in various facilities and nursing homes in northwest Missouri before moving to Parkdale, where he made many friends with the residents and staff and looked forward to Friday morning bingo, and Sunday morning church services.

Hubie was a gentle and loving person. Anyone who spent much time with him knew that Hubie was aware of more than his handicap would allow him to communicate. Still, he was positive, loved to laugh, and had a sly sense of humor which he had a knack for using at just the right moment. TV provided an escape for Hubie and he identified particularly with Super Heroes, the Three Stooges, and any of the "Good Guys." Hubie was one of those good guys. He will never be forgotten by those who knew him.

Hubie is survived by his half-brother, Randy Twaddle, Houston, Texas; a step-brother, Ron Bailey, Mountain Grove, Missouri; and cousins Russel Potter, Prescott, Arizona, and John and James Potter of Avondale, Arizona.

Graveside services were held on Friday, November 29, at Lamar Cemetery, Elmo. Pastor Connie Eighny presided. Hackett-Livingston Funeral Home in Shenandoah, Iowa was entrusted with the arrangements.
