Hollis passed on Tuesday morning at the Garden View Care Center.

Hollis Aleene (Nowels) Spencer was born on November 15, 1921 in College Springs, Iowa, the daughter of Wayne and Edna (Woodard) Nowels. Hollis entered into eternal peace on Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at the Garden View Care Center in Shenandoah, Iowa.

Hollis attended school in College Springs. She was united in marriage to David Spencer on February 1, 1941 in Maryville, MO. The couple resided in Hepburn, Iowa following their marriage. She was a loving wife and mother. Hollis enjoyed gardening and camping. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband David; son Darrell J. Spencer; 3 sisters and 2 brothers.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son Kenneth Spencer and wife Janet; daughter Donna Spencer; 2 grandsons; 6 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
