Hazel L. Waldron, daughter of Leonard A. and Hazel U. (Campbell) Davey, was born on July 24, 1915, in Shenandoah, Iowa. She passed away on Saturday, April 18, 2009, at the Shenandoah Medical Center following a brief illness at the age of 93.
Growing up in Shenandoah, Hazel attended Broad Street Elementary, and received her education in the Shenandoah School System.
On February 1, 1932, Hazel was united in marriage to Paul P. Waldron in Maryville, Missouri. Following their marriage they farmed around the Essex, Iowa area. They later moved to Missouri Valley, Iowa in 1946. To this union were born seven children, Paul L., Murrell, Beverly, Gerald, Donald, Daryl and Jerry. Hazel was a devoted mother and homemaker to her children and husband.
Hazel had fond memories of living on the farm northeast of Missouri Valley where she always kept a large garden. She also enjoyed traveling and attending the Iowa State Fair each year (a tradition of over 50 years). In her later years Hazel liked to embroidery and watch television, especially soap opera's.
Preceding Hazel in death were her parents; husband, Paul P. Waldron (1977); son, Paul LeRoy Waldron (2004); and two brothers, John L. Davey (2004) and Glen A. Davey (2005).
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Murrell L. Waldron and wife Carol of Spencer, IA, Beverly J. Nelson of Harris, IA, Gerald D. Waldron and wife Beatrice of Pisgah, IA, Donald R. Waldron of Shenandoah, IA, Daryl L. Waldron and wife Robyn of Council Bluffs, IA, and Jerry L. Waldron of Shenandoah, IA; 13 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; 37 great-great grandchildren; several step grandchildren; sister, Wilma Turner of Hot Springs Village, AR; daughter-in-law, Rosetta Waldron of Woodstock, MN; nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.

Funeral Services were held at 10:00 a.m., on Thursday, April 23, 2009 at the Hackett-Livingston Funeral Home with Pastor Tom Jaske officiating. Jim Waldron attended to the memorial register. Special music for the service included "Peace In The Valley", "Will The Circle Be Unbroken", "Amazing Grace", "The Old Rugged Cross" and "God Be With You, Till We Meet Again". Serving as casket bearers were Paul E. Waldron, Paul E. Waldron, Jr., Michael Waldron, Timothy W. Waldron, David L. Waldron and Mark P. Nelson. Burial followed in the Rose Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Peace Lutheran Church in Shenandoah.
