Obituary

Harry passed away on Friday, March 16, 2007, at the Westridge Care Center in Clarinda, Iowa, at the age of 82 years. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Red Oak, Iowa. Memorials are being directed to the family.

Harry Edward Arnett, son of Charles Edward and Luva Leola (Ranck) Arnett, was born on March 7, 1925, in St. Joseph, Missouri.
He spent most of his early life around St. Joseph before moving to Riverton, Iowa and then to Sidney, Iowa before settling in Shenandoah, Iowa. Harry received his education from the Sidney Schools. On January 29, 1950, Harry was united in marriage to Ruth Bernice Dumler in Shenandoah. Following their marriage they made their home in Sidney before moving to Shenandoah. Harry worked at Henningston Asphalt Co. of Atlantic, Iowa, Demco Road Repairing of Mingo, Iowa, Western International of Des Moines, Iowa, for 12 years, Cooper Nuclear Power Plant at Brownsville, NE for 10 years and last worked at Henry Field Seed & Nursery in Shenandoah for six years. Harry was a member of the First Christian Church in Shenandoah. He loved his little dogs, Bear, Shadow, Roxie and Cup Cake. Harry was a loving grandfather to his grandson, James. He loved taking him fishing and other times he spent with him roller skating. Harry always had a big smile for everyone. He loved to visit with people, telling jokes and talking about the good old days.
Preceding Harry in death were his wife Ruth; parents, Charles and Luva; sister, Lillian Miller; brother, Charles Arnett; infant sister, Charlene; and step father Jeff W. White. Survivors include his daughter, Sheryl and grandson, James both of Shenandoah, IA; sisters Mildred Smith of Des Moines, IA and Edith Osborne of Shenandoah, IA; brother-in-law, Bill H. Dumler and wife Dorothy of Villisca, IA; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.
