Helen Phyllis Bloom, daughter of Claude LeRoy "Roy" and Eva Lucinda (McIntyre) Finley was born on February 16, 1922 in Fremont County, Iowa. She passed away September 2, 2014 at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska, at the age of 92.

Phyllis grew up on her family's farm and completed her education at Shenandoah High School. She worked for a time at Midway Caf on Highway 59 south of Shenandoah.

Phyllis was united in marriage to Stanley Wayne Bloom on October 18, 1943 at the Methodist Church parsonage in Tarkio, Missouri. They lived in Colorado for a time, while Stanley was in the military. Upon his honorable discharge from the military, they returned to the Bloom family farm where she spent most of her life. Phyllis traveled extensively with her husband, Stanley, to assist him in conducting his district sales meetings for Garst & Thomas and Pioneer Seed Corn Company.

Phyllis was a member of the Eastern Star, the United Methodist Church in Northboro, Iowa and enjoyed playing bridge and golf for many years.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband Stanley in 2000, daughter Patricia Kay in 2012, son-in-law Gary P. Myers in 1999, brother Duane Finley and wife Elaine, sisters Claudia Bangs and husband Pete, Irma Stratton and husband Bernard and Gwen Smoke and husband Chuck, and brother-in-law Robert Book.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son Michael Bloom and wife Joan of rural Northboro, Iowa, grandson Ari David Bloom of Brooklyn, Wisconsin, granddaughters Sarah Frank and husband Brandon of Middleton, Wisconsin and Heather Myers of Omaha, Nebraska, great-grandchildren Vyctorya and Antonio Myers of Omaha, Nebraska and Ryane and Kailinn Frank of Middleton, Wisconsin, sister Wanda Book of Shenandoah, Iowa, brother Galen Finley and wife Joann of Arizona, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
