Memorials may be directed to the Shenandoah Community Food Pantry or the Shenandoah American Legion Color Guard.

Gregory Clete Jones was born on March 2, 1947 in Shenandoah, Iowa, the son of Paul E. and Evelyn M. (Thomas) Jones.  Greg entered into eternal rest on July 18, 2021 at the VA Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska.

Greg was born and raised in the Shenandoah community.  He graduated from Shenandoah High School with the Class of 1965.  He was drafted into the United States Army on September 3, 1969.  He served his country with pride during the Vietnam War.  He was honorably discharged on September 1, 1975.

Greg was a skilled handyman.  During his working years he was employed at Hy-Vee, Tall Corn Motel, and also did some farming and handyman work on the side.  He was a member of the American Legion and when he was growing up was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church, where he served as an altar boy.  He enjoyed hunting, farming, was an avid reader and had a passion for animals.

He was preceded in   death by his parents; brother Paul "Bud" Jones, Jr. and grandson Kyle Bryant.  Those left to cherish his memory include his children  Leslie Bryant of Plant City, FL, Brian Jones (Earlene) of Owasso, OK and Clete Jones (Sheri Schaaf) of Farragut, IA; grandchildren Heather Shaw, Cheyenne Gallegos, Brianna Odle, Kristen Lind, Evan Jones and Hallie Jane Jones; great-grandchildren Kyleigh, Mollie, Caleb and Skylar Shaw, Valerie Gallegos and Rylee Grace Jones; sisters Margo Sherry Taylor of Shenandoah, IA and Andrea Cowles (Earl) of Nebraska City, NE; brothers Dannie Jones (Melinda) of Des Moines, IA and Gary Jones of Lincoln, NE; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
