Garlen L. McCoy, Jr. age 78 of Shenandoah passed away on Thursday evening, March 13, 2025 at CHI Health Heart Hospital in Lincoln, Nebraska.  Garlen was born on September 19, 1946 the son of Garlen and Katheryn (Veach) McCoy at the Hand Hospital in Shenandoah.

Garlen attended school in Shenandoah.  On August 28, 1965 he was united in marriage to Marilyn Davis.  They made their home in the Shenandoah community.  The couple was blessed with the birth of their son, Jeff.

During his working years he was employed by Lakes Nursery and Eaton Corporation.  He enjoyed the many friendships that he made over the years.  Some of his hobbies included talking on the CB radio, watching professional wrestling on the television and spending time with his great-grandchildren during the summer.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters Pam Bond and Mary McCoy.  Those left to cherish his memory include his beloved wife Marilyn of their home; son Jeff and wife Fernanda of Shenandoah; sister Janice Ottens and husband John of Bellevue, NE; brother-in-law LeRoy Davis and wife Barb of College Springs, IA; 1 grandchild; 5 great-grandchildren; 7 nieces; 7 nephews; other relatives and a host of friends.

Private family memorial services will be held.  Memorials in his name, may be directed to the family.
