Obituary

Frances Berniece (Polsley) Hovermale, daughter of Clement Gardner and Lida Carrie (Christy) Polsley, was born on June 4, 1913 at Coin, Iowa. She entered into eternal rest on Saturday, August 13, 2011 at the Elm Heights Care Center in Shenandoah, Iowa at the age of 98.
Growing up in the rural Coin area, Frances attended country school before attending and graduating from Coin High School with the Class of 1931.
On January 24, 1934, Frances was united in marriage to Milton Lyle Hovermale in Plattsmouth, Nebraska. Following their marriage they made their home in rural Coin. To this marriage a daughter, Phyllis June, was born.
Frances was a loving homemaker to her husband and daughter. She was a member of the Coin United Methodist Church.
Activities that brought great enjoyment to Frances were gardening, growing flowers, bird feeding, fishing (up until age 85), and hosting Sunday dinners for her family. She especially loved spending time with her three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Milton Hovermale; brother, Melbern Polsley; and son-in-law, Jack Stake. Survivors include her daughter, Phyllis Stake of Shenandoah, IA; three grandchildren, Kevin Stake and wife Teresa of Red Oak, IA, Cindy Stamps and husband Danny of Corning, IA, and Kenny Stake and wife Rose of Cooper City, FL; two great granddaughters, Oakley and Tasha Stamps of Iowa City, IA; sister, Thelma Potter and husband Kenneth of Omaha, NE; sister-in-law, Gwen Polsley of Omaha, NE; two nephews; other relatives and friends.
