Florence passed away early Monday morning at the Shenandoah Medical Center.

Florence Elizabeth Herron, daughter of Herbert Howard and Grace (Hershey) Rogers, was born on February 4, 1919 near Chadron, Nebraska. She passed away on Monday, April 22, 2013 at the Shenandoah Medical Center at the age of 94.

On June 29, 1936 Florence was united in marriage to Edison Curtis Herron at Loveland, Colorado. She gained three stepchildren, Maxine, John and Marie Herron. Seven children, Myrtice, Mae, Clarence, Carl, Myrna, Mary and Curtis were born to Edison and Florence.


During her working years she worked for Clarkson Hospital, Grape Community Hospital and Elm Heights has a nurses aide. She was a member of the Eagles Club, the VFW and the First Baptist Church. She enjoyed playing BINGO, doing crafts, playing cards, sewing, cooking and fishing.

Preceding Florence in death were her parents; brother, Leonard Hershey; husband, Edison Herron; step-children, Maxine Hook and her husband Curtis, John Herron and his wife Marian; step-son-in-law, Earl Wobig; two children, Mary Howard and Curtis Herron; two sons-in-law, Albert Howard and Floyd Reynolds; and three great grandchildren, J. J. Herron, Christy Herron and Casey Herron.

Survivors include her children, Marie Wobig of Cody, NE, Myrtice "Betty" Reynolds of Niobrara, NE, Mae Bain and Max of Farragut, IA, Clarence Herron and Terry of Crescent, IA, Carl Herron and Eva of Lebanon, TN, and Myrna Hayes of Shenandoah, IA; grandchildren, Linda Hook, Laverne Hook, John Herron, Jr. and wife Crystal, Cathy Bishop, Wade Wobig and wife Joyce, Russell Wobig and wife Priscilla, Jeffrey Wobig, Floyd Reynolds, Gary Reynolds and wife Mary, Harry Reynolds and wife Dorothy, Denise Adams and husband Michael, Kenneth Herron, Keith Herron, Karyn Hayes, Chip Herron, Teri Ann Herron, Marc Herron and wife Billie, Danielle Gray and husband Jason, Shannon Pritchett and wife Rose, Christina McClain and husband Kaylon, Steven Pritchett and Cori Pritchett.
