Flinton Emil Eitzen, son of Emil and Alvah (Kame) Eitzen, was born on February 14, 1927, in Hamburg, Iowa, and entered into rest on August 1, 2007, at the Montgomery County Hospital in Red Oak, Iowa.

Flinton's early life was spent growing up in the Morton Township of Page County, better known to the locals as the "Eitzen Corner". He attended Centennial Country School and Northboro High School.

On June 18, 1950, Flinton was united in marriage to Darlene (Koch) at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Northboro, Iowa. After their marriage, the couple resided in Riverton, Iowa and later returned to the Coin area.

Flinton was a farmer all his life. He was also a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Shenandoah. Flinton collected Model A and Model T cars as a hobby.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his infant sister, Martha. Flinton is survived by his wife, Darlene of Coin; daughter, Linda and husband Reldon Stoops of Shenandoah; daughter, Deborah and husband Wade Potter of Shenandoah and son, David Eitzen of Millard, Nebraska. Grandchildren; Laura Kincannon and fianc Shawn Everidge, Bethany and husband Christopher Maronde, Thomas Stoops, Clete Jones, Amber Eitzen and Brandelyn Eitzen; sister Freda Koster of Huntington Beach, California; other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services were held Saturday, August 4, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Shenandoah, Iowa. Words of comfort were given by Pastor Jerry Wagoner. Organist was Linda Micheel. Sheri Howard sang "On Eagles Wings". Other musical selections included "Just As I Am" and "Be Still My Soul". Faye Rolf attended the memory register. Ron Malmberg and Roger Brink were ushers. Casket bearers were Rick Apperson, Todd Bain, Louis Burkhiser, C.D. Pease, Larry Lauman and grandson, Clete Jones. Interment was at Rose Hill Cemetery in Shenandoah, Iowa.
