Everett L. Gardner was born on September 11, 1919 in Riverton, Iowa the son of Bert Edward and Eva Leona (Lundy) Gardner. Everett entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at his home in Shenandoah, Iowa at the blessed age of 91 years.

Everett's early years were spent in Riverton where he attended school. He enlisted in the United States Navy and served his country with pride from 1942 until 1945 when he was honorably discharged. On August 21, 1943 he was united in marriage to H. Faye Allen in Omaha, Nebraska. The couple made their home in Riverton. Faye passed away in 1971. He later found happiness with Ollie Asbury Monroe and the couple was married on July 2, 1972 in Council Bluffs, Iowa. The couple then moved to Shenandoah. Ollie passed away in 1999.

Everett worked for Dekalb Seed and also farmed until his retirement. He was a hard worker who enjoyed visiting with his clients and cherished the many friendships that he made throughout the years. He was a member of a camping club and the Good Sam Club. Some of his passions included fishing and camping, he loved the outdoors.

He was preceded in death by his brother Clarence Gardner; sister Barbara Gardner; parents Bert and Leona Gardner; and wives Faye and Ollie Gardner.

He is survived by his daughter Susan Kling; sisters Carrol, Opal and Thelma; step-son Norman; step-daughter Marilyn; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
