Obituary

Evelyn passed away on September 1, 2013 at the Clarinda Regional Health Center in Clarinda, Iowa.

Memorials may be directed to the Northboro United Methodist Church or to the Shenandoah American Legion Auxiliary Post #88.

Evelyn Marie (Chapman) Morelock was born to Edd and Oralea Chapman on March 8, 1930. Evelyn had been in declining health for the past two years. She went to Goldenrod Manor in Clarinda last May and passed away September 1, 2013 at the Clarinda Regional Health Center.

Evelyn was the first of ten children. She graduated from Northboro High School in May of 1948. She played basketball and was in Glee Club. She attended Northboro Sunday school and church. She loved going to movies.

Evelyn married Dale Morelock on August 29, 1948 and they were married for 59 years. They moved to Conway, Iowa for six years; then moved to a farm in Northboro. Evelyn had two children David and Sandra. Evelyn and Dale owned and operated Morelock Feed Company. They were blessed to be able to travel with "Wayne Feed Company" to many places and countries.

Evelyn and Dale loved to dance. They square danced in their early life and then went on to ballroom dancing. She belonged to United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women of Northboro, W.W. Club, Visit Awhile Club, Pinnacle Club, and American Legion Post #88 Auxiliary.

Evelyn was always particular about her appearance and especially her nails. Her homemade noodles were a specialty that her family loved and looked forward to. Fried cabbage was also a special dish that she made. She was part of a large happy loving family that loved being together.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband Dale, parents Edd and Oralea, and three month old sister Janice. Those left to cherish her memory are her son, David and wife Lena of Florida; daughter, Sandra of Coin; three grandchildren and five great-grandsons, Aaron Morelock and wife Michelle and their sons, Devin and Drew of rural Farragut, Alexis O'Hara and husband Tom and their son Patrick of Ohio, David Morelock and wife Ashley and their sons Cooper and Ethan of Yorktown; three brothers, Glen Dale (Bud) Chapman of Denver, CO, Donald Wayne (Don) Chapman and wife Beverly of Roseville, CA, James (Jim) Chapman and wife Loretta of Arvada, CO; five sisters, Elaine Ohnmacht and husband Bob of Essex, Jean Foxworthy of Omaha, Pat Farwell of Red Oak, Dianna Hall and husband Dean of Westboro, and Donna Yost of Henderson, NV; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
