Elizabeth Mullins, 88, died Feb.2 at her daughter's home in Shenandoah, Iowa. She was born July 11, 1930 to Fred and Genevieve Richardson, the youngest of four siblings.
Elizabeth married D.B. Mullins in 1950 at the Methodist Church Chapel. In 1951 they moved to Kentucky with daughter Teresa after D.B. was drafted into the Army.
Upon returning to Shenandoah she worked as a dental assistant to Dr. G. Warin, and later in the lunchroom at Shenandoah High School.
Elizabeth served as local chairwoman of the Cancer Society, and as president of Meta Grada. She served many years with the Hospital Auxiliary, Methodist Church Circle, American Legion Auxiliary and Lady Elks.
She enjoyed traveling with friends and her husband to places like Hawaii, Florida and Chicago. She also loved collecting and polishing unique pieces of jewelry. In their later years they spent winters at their home in Mesa, Arizona.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Fred Richardson Jr., Robert Richardson and Betty (Richardson) Tyner.
She is survived by her husband D.B., daughter Tery Dickerson of Shenandoah; son Jeffry Mullins of Elko, Nevada; granddaughters Erin (Chris) Cook and Dayna Dickerson of Shenandoah and Regan Mullins of Boise, Idaho; and great-grandchildren Morgan, Ellie and Averie Cook; Kain Pickens and wife Alex; Karmyn Pickens; and Madison, Mallory and Parker Dickerson.
Celebration of life graveside service will be held 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at the Rose Hill Cemetery in Shenandoah. Visitation with the family will held from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at the Hackett-Livingston Funeral Home in Shenandoah. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to People for Paws.
