Elizabeth Ann "Mickey" Shay Tray, 87, Princeton, IN, formerly of Shenandoah, IA, died Monday, May 16, 2016, at Gibson General Hospital, Princeton.
She was born February 27, 1929, in Iowa City, IA, to William T. Shay and Rose Konvalinka Shay. She graduated from St. Mary's High School, Iowa City, in 1946 and from St. Joseph School of Nursing, Ottumwa, IA, in 1950.
On May 24, 1952, she married James Francis Tray at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ottumwa.
Mrs. Tray was a registered nurse for 40 years, beginning her career at St. Joseph's Hospital, Ottumwa and ending at Marshall County Hospital, Madill, OK.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Princeton.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years; daughter, Eileen Davey; grandson, Michael Davey; parents; brothers, Clement, Cletus, and LaVerne Shay; and sister, Evelyn Robison.
She is survived by her six children, Thomas Tray, Spurger, TX, Christopher and Krystal Tray, Columbia, MO, Timothy and Kathy Tray, Round Rock, TX, MaryFrances and Tim Stransky, Princeton, IN, Patrick Tray, Columbia and Jennifer and Ron Harrington, Princeton; son-in-law, Jim Davey, Shenandoah, IA; 11 grandchildren, Kevin, Brian and Lauren Davey, Matthew Tray and Caitlin Lee, Erin and Megan Stransky, Ryan and Allison Tray and Shannon and Emily Harrington; two great-grandsons, Ian and Connor Lee; one brother, William and Bobbie Shay, Iowa City.
