Edith Leola Osborn, daughter of Charles Edward and Luva Leola (Ranck) Arnett, was born on March 20, 1930, in Sheffield, Alabama. She passed away on Monday, May 14, 2007, at the Nebraska Medical Center (Clarkson Hospital) in Omaha, Nebraska at the age of 77.

At the age of two, Edith and her family moved from Alabama to Southwest Iowa, where she would spend the rest of her life. Edith received her education in the Sidney and Hamburg Schools. On November 21, 1948, Edith was united in marriage to Donald L. Osborn at the First United Methodist Church in Shenandoah. They made their home in Shenandoah, where they raised their two children, Karen and Jimmy. Edith worked for over 30 years at Henry Field Seed & Nursery. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Shenandoah. Edith loved to collect things, among her favorites were cookie jars, salt & pepper shakers and stuffed animals. She also loved to dance when she was able.

Preceding Edith in death were her parents; brothers, Harry and Charles Arnett; and sisters, Charlene Arnett and Rae (Lillian) Miller. Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Donald L. Osborn; daughter, Karen Woods; son, Jimmy Osborn; sister Mildred Smith; grandson, Bill Woods and his wife Shari; great granddaughter, Cori Woods; numerous nieces, nephews, step great grandchildren and many other friends and relatives.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, May 17, 2007, at 1:00 p.m. at the Hackett-Livingston Funeral Home in Shenandoah. Words of comfort were given by Pastor Fred Bryson. Musical selections were "Amazing Grace" and "I Saw The Light". Special music was performed by granddaughter Cori Woods. Attending the memory register were Ida Strange and Vicki Ware. Honorary casket bearers were "All of Edith's friends". Casket bearers were Jack Yost, Timothy Hart, Patrick Hart, Larry Hertensen, Bob Strange, Adam Lowery and Coltyn Liggett. Interment was in the Center Grove Cemetery near Westboro, Missouri. Memorials are being directed to the family. The Hackett-Livingston Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
