Earl Edward Hendrickson, son of Elmer and Ebba (Bengston) Hendrickson was born on January 5, 1927 in Grant Township, Montgomery County, Iowa. He passed away on Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at the Good Samaritan Society in Villisca, Iowa at the age of 87.
Earl spent his early and adult life in and around the Essex area. He attended the Essex Community School system. He was united in marriage to Betty Meng on May 29, 1949. After their marriage they resided in Red Oak and Essex, Iowa.
Earl was a Korean War veteran serving in the U.S. Navy from 1951-1955.
Earl was a farmer for most of his life. He was also a maintenance man for the Shenandoah Medical Center and Garden View Care Center until his retirement. He was a member of the Faith Covenant Church in Essex. He enjoyed golfing and boating.
Earl was preceded in death by his wife Betty Hendrickson, parents Elmer and Ebba Hendrickson, brother Raymond Hendrickson, sisters Irene Wright, Lillian Miller, Betty Burks, and Margorie Brinker.
Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter Debra Mugge and husband Curt of Gaithersburg, Maryland, son Randy Hendrickson of Des Moines, Iowa, sister Pauline Miller of Shenandoah, Iowa and numerous nieces and nephews.
