Earl David Bain was born on July 15, 1945 in Shenandoah, Iowa the son of Orville R. and Maxine Ruth (White) Bain in Shenandoah, Iowa.  David entered into eternal peace on Sunday, April 18, 2021 in Omaha, Nebraska.

David's early years were spent in Shenandoah until the family moved to Farragut when he was in grade school.  He graduated from Farragut High School with the Class of 1963. Following graduation he worked for Mt. Arbor Nursery for 3 years, Kitchen Klatter for 5 years and Eaton Corporation until his retirement after 29 years of service.

He had a passion for woodworking.  He would spend countless hours working on various projects.  He loved to bowl and bowled in several leagues throughout the years.  Another sport he enjoyed well into his 50's was playing fast and slow pitch softball.  He played on several local teams throughout Southwest Iowa over the years.  He also enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family.  When his twin granddaughters were born, they were the apple of his eye!  He enjoyed babysitting them and they were truly his pride and joy.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Frank Bain and Mr. and Mrs. Chester White; parents Orville and Maxine Bain; son Jeffrey Bain; brothers Rex and Max Bain and sister Judy Powers; a niece Trudy Sorensen; brother-in-law Raymond Welchans and sister-in-law Mae Bain.

Those left to remember him with a smile include his devoted daughter Jill Gilbert and husband Shannon of Shenandoah; granddaughters Nichole and Natalie Gilbert of Shenandoah; sisters Zoanna Welchans of Farragut and Paula Durst of Oklahoma City; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
